Dog dies one hour after a visit to the groomers, now the owner wants justice

When you leave your dog with a groomer you trust that it will be left in professional hands and your dog will return refreshed and happy.

But when Danielle DiNapoli, from New Jersey, left her beloved English bulldog with groomers at PetSmart she received a shocking call.

Just one hour later she was told that her dog Scruffles was dead.

It was in December 2017 that Danielle DiNapoli made the terrible discovery.

Her beloved family member Scruffles suddenly died – just an hour or so after she left her with a groomer.

“She was my baby girl,” Danielle told the Today show.

She added that she had told groomers not to dry her sometimes anxious 8-year-old bulldog.

“I just hope she didn’t suffer but I think she did because for her to die that quickly she must have been so scared.”

In a statement, PetSmart aid they were investigating the death of Scruffles.

“We are truly saddened by the loss of Scruffles,” PetSmart said in a statement, according to the NY Post,

“While a comprehensive internal investigation is still ongoing, our initial findings indicate the associates involved followed all policies and procedures consistent with care and services provided to breeds such as bulldogs.”
