“A bear ate our dessert bar”: newlyweds surprised by a very unexpected wedding crasher

Many new brides and grooms fear that uninvited “wedding crashers” will intrude on their big day, but one recent story takes it to a whole new level.

On July 31, high school sweethearts Cailyn MacRossie-Martinez and Brandon Martinez tied the knot in Boulder County, Colorado — but their wedding wasn’t as picture-perfect as you’d normally hope for.

For starters, the couple endured a monsoon as heavy rain bore down on their ceremony. “By the time it started pouring rain on us in the middle of the ceremony, us and all of our guests were soaking wet,” bride Cailyn told KUSA.

“But it was awesome. It was totally awesome,” she added.

But the rain was only the beginning. At their reception, things really got wild after a real party animal snuck in.

No, it wasn’t a relative who had a little too much from the open bar — it was a bear!

As the guests danced, a wild black bear snuck in — apparently he had a sweet tooth, as he went right for the dessert table, helping himself to some cannoli:

We’ve heard stories of animals crashing weddings, including dogs, deer and raccoons, but an actual bear is a first!

“It’s not too often you go in to your dessert table and see a bear crashing it and eating all of it,” Brandon told KUSA. The bear was reportedly shooed off with no harm done.

While no one dreams of their special day being full of monsoons and sweet-craving bears, Cailyn and Brandon took the whole thing in stride, joking that it was a “perfect Colorado wedding.”

“Life doesn’t always go to plan, but it’s how you get through it together,” Cailyn said.

Now that’s a wedding to remember! We’re glad these newlyweds are taking this all with a laugh and hope that bear enjoyed his dessert! 😂
