Mama dog loses 7 puppies in fire – woman finds foster litter to help heal her heart

Daisy the proud mother of a litter of puppies endured a horrific tragedy that no parent should ever have to go through.

The Great Pyreness/Border Collie mix was left heartbroken when her puppies died in an accidental barn fire back in 2018.

Jacque Barnett, sister of Daisy’s owner, said the family lost other animals in the fire at their farm in Oregon.

“When I went out there on the day of the fire, she (Daisy) was really distraught. She wasn’t her usual self, usually she greets you when you arrive but her whole demeanor had changed,” Jacque told Inside Edition.

So Jacque decided to help Daisy and put a post out on social media to see if she could find some foster puppies for Daisy.

“Any help is needed,” she wrote in her post, adding: “My sister had a barn fire on her property on Monday. There were 7 puppies, 4 goats and a pig killed in the fire. Mama dog (Daisy) is just heartbroken. We are trying to find her some foster puppies.”

Thankfully, a litter of puppies were in need of a new mom and finally Daisy had babies again to love and care for.

Such a beautiful story of how one dog’s tragedy led to a litter of homeless puppies getting the love they deserve while helping to heal a grieving mom’s heart.
