Dog dumped at a high-kill shelter because of his looks

To dump an animal because he doesn’t conform to society’s definition of “perfect” is such a terrible thing to do to an animal.

This is what happened to an 8-week-old American Staffordshire Terrier who was separated from his mom and siblings because his owner didn’t like the look of him.

His heartless owner dropped him off at a high-kill shelter but thankfully was given a second chance by animal lovers from Cause For Paws.

The sweet pup was dumped because he was born with a half-formed right ear and a blind left eye.

But Nicole Horabik from Cause for Paws saw his adoption ad online and knew she had to find him. When she located the dog, she took him home, called him Captain Morgan, or The Cap, and shared his picture and story on Facebook.

“I was thrown away because I wasn’t perfect. Share if you think I am perfect!!!” she wrote.

“We’re thinking The Cap is the result of a very irresponsible backyard breeder, and we see his imperfections as perfection!” she added.

Nicole had a vet check him over and said despite “having a wonky eye and ears that don’t match in size…this snuggler (man, he loves to snuggle!) has a clean bill of health.”

She added: “From what we can tell, he can’t see out of the one eye, but can hear fine from the smaller ear. He also has a slight underbite, but again, we think that’s what makes this love bug so darling!”

After sharing images of this lovable hound it wasn’t long before a loving forever home was found for him.

UPDATE: We are pleased to say that Cap has found a loving and wonderful home! We couldn't be more thrilled. You can read…
