For most families with pets, a new human addition can be a game changer. It can be exciting introducing your new bundle of joy to your dog or cat, but it’s filled with uncertainty as to how they’ll react and how they’ll get on.
Usually it works out well, but you always have to be careful leaving your pets alone with your child.
For one family it was an easy process as their sweet rescue dog became their daughter Addison’s biggest protector.
And when mom goes looking for her dog one day, she can’t believe where she finds him.
Kristin Leigh Rhynehart thought her dog had gone missing one day and panicked when she couldn’t find him.
The North Carolina mom adopted Raven ten years ago and has never regretted her decision for a second.
Raven has rewarded the family that saved him with so much love and loyalty.
Panicked
While her toddler Addison napped, Kristin looked for Raven to play with, but he was nowhere to be found. She panicked and looked in every room and even outside but couldn’t find him.
The one room she hadn’t checked was her daughter’s but as she opened the door, she didn’t realize the surprise waiting for her.
Raven is under the covers resting with Addison.
As she enters the room, Raven lifts his head to check who’s entering and when he sees it’s no threat he goes back to napping.
Kristin could relax as her beloved dog was being the perfect protector.
“Ten years ago I left a rescue with this little guy and I often wonder… who rescued who? I gave him a home, but he gave me so, so much more.” Kristin said.
Thankfully she filmed the sweet moment and posted the clip, which immediately went viral. Currently more than 6 million people have viewed the adorable video.
