A calf from Medway, Massachusetts has a lot to be thankful for after a frightening near-death experience.

Thankfully a group of first responders were able to rescue the baby cow that “was in serious danger of drowning.”

On Saturday, the Medway Fire Department shared images from a technical animal rescue where they had to pull a calf out of a 20-foot well.

“There is no such thing as a typical day in the fire service. Today, members of Medway Fire Department Group 3 executed a technical animal rescue at a local farm, after a calf fell into a 20 foot deep well and was in serious danger of drowning,” they wrote.

Luckily, firefighters, along with members of the Medway Police Department were able to rescue the calf.

Thanks to the first responders the calf was back with the rest of its herd in no time.

Not your typical work day, but it keeps the job interesting!
