Rescue dogs pay tribute to Jamie Lee Curtis by dressing up as her famous characters

Jamie Lee Curtis is one of Hollywood’s most beloved actresses. From classics like Halloween and A Fish Called Wanda to recent hits like Knives Out and Everything Everywhere All At Once, Curtis has given us so many memorable performance.

On top of that, she’s also an advocate for animals. She’s used her platform to showcase rescue dogs in need of homes, and has spoken out against animal dissection.

Now, with the actress having a big moment with an Oscar nomination and some major award wins, one animal organization has paid a sweet tribute to Curtis — and bring some attention to some adoptable dogs.

After Curtis won a SAG Award for her supporting performance in Everything Everywhere All At Once on Sunday, Paw Works, an animal nonprofit with whom Curtis has worked with in the past, decided to pay tribute in the most adorable way possible.

They dressed some of their rescue pups up as Jamie Lee Curtis’ most famous characters.

The seven “impeccable recreations” of Curtis’ roles are adorable, serving as both a tribute to Curtis’ work with animals and as a way to showcase these adorable rescue dogs, hopefully helping them to find homes.

Naturally, Jamie Lee Curtis was delighted to see this doggy tribute to her career.

“THIS is EVERYTHING!” the actress wrote on Instagram.

Curtis famously teamed up with Paw Works last year at the Academy Awards, when Curtis paid tribute to the late Betty White.

During the in memoriam segment, Curtis took the stage with a rescue dog named Mac-n-Cheese, and encouraged viewers to honor Betty White’s legacy as an animal advocate by adopting shelter dogs.

“Day in and day out for almost a century, she was a woman who cared so much for not just her two-legged friends but for animals just like this,” Curtis said. “So the greatest gift you could give Betty White is to open your heart and your home and adopt a rescue dog just like Mac-N-Cheese from Paw Works. So thank you, Betty, thank you for being a friend to us all.”

The adorable idea worked out perfectly, as Mac-N-Cheese had a very happy ending: he was adopted by none other than actor John Travolta.

The actress also paid tribute to White by wearing a dress designed by an animal rights activist, Stella McCartney.

“Betty White was an animal rights activist and when I knew I was going to make a statement about her, I went to Stella McCartney, who is an animals right activist,” Curtis told Access Hollywood, per Us Magazine. “They made me this dress. I feel like it’s telling Betty’s story.”

It wasn’t the first time Curtis was involved with animal rights. She became more involved thanks to her daughter, who has been vegan since she was 5.

According to PETA, the actress has spoken out against animal dissection.

The actress also has a rescue dog of her own, Runi, who she adopted from Perfect Pet Rescue.

“He has transformed our family as only a rescued animal can,” she wrote on Twitter in 2017.

Curtis is currently nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in Everything Everywhere All At Once. It marks the first Oscar nomination of her storied career.

She also recently reprised her most famous role, Laurie Strode, in the horror sequels Halloween Kills and Halloween Ends. She will also appear in the upcoming Disney film The Haunted Mansion later this year.

What a sweet tribute to Jamie Lee Curtis, both her legendary acting career and her work with animals! We hope all these precious dressed-up dogs find homes soon!
