Mom-of-three banned from owning pets for life after starving bulldog Bella

Animal lovers around the world are constantly calling for tougher punishments for those people found guilty of animal abuse.

Owning an animal is a privilege and those people that don’t take this seriously shouldn’t be allowed to keep animals.

A court in Australia recently came down hard on a mom-of-three who neglected her dog so much she died of starvation.

In the heartbreaking case the court in Brisbane, Queensland, heard Bella, the two-year-old American bulldog, starved to death and had an untreated injury.

This was despite another dog in the owner’s yard being in good health.

She was rescued by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) following a number of complaints about the dog’s condition.

She underwent surgery for medical conditions but later died.

Failing to feed Bella

RSPCA officers told the court Bella looked like a “skeleton” when she was rescued. Her owner 25-year-old Ariel Crowther-Christine was charged with failing to feed Bella and three counts of failing to provide treatment for an injury, Yahoo News reports.

Ariel Crowther-Christine, who did not appear for sentencing, was fined $2,300 and banned from keeping animals, Yahoo News reported.
