It’s important to keep your dog hygienic and well-groomed, but most dog owners will tell you trying to keep a dog clean can be a difficult task.
Many dogs are known to run away from their grooming rituals, to the point that owners have had to resort to elaborate lifehacks to get them to obey.
But that isn’t the case for one dog, who not only doesn’t mind getting his teeth brushed, but it’s the only thing that will get him inside from playtime.
Stephanie Voss is the owner of a dog named Jesse, a playful dog who likes to run around the backyard. But when it’s time to get him inside, Stephanie knows one weird trick to get his attention.
In a video, Stephanie tries to get the dog inside by asking if he’ll watch TV with her, but the dog doesn’t budge.
Then, she says “Who wants to brush our teeth?!” and the dog comes running in!
If a hygiene enthusiast dog sounds too good to be true, well, it is.
Stephanie says that what he really wants is the treat he’ll get afterwards.
“He really doesn’t care for the actual brushing,” Stephanie told The Dodo. “I give him a daily dental treat that is shaped like a toothbrush, and that is what he comes running inside for.”
Still, whatever gets him motivated.
Stephanie, who adopted Jesse as a four-week old puppy, says that in addition to his unusual toothbrush enthusiasm, Jesse is one very friendly loving dog.
With the funny video going viral, Jesse is probably loving the spotlight.
“He loves being the center of attention,” Stephanie told The Dodo. “He has to be in the middle of everything. He helps with the dishes and enjoys assisting me when I paint.”
What a funny dog! We wish our pets were this enthusiastic about oral hygiene…
