Bus driver makes special stop every day – to help a hungry dog

Unfortunately, there are still homeless dogs in countries where you wouldn’t expect them. No matter how much some people work to make sure every dog has a home, it’s impossible to save them all. There are simply too many — and there aren’t enough people willing to give them real homes.

That’s where Feed The Furbabies Canada comes in. The organization focuses on helping dogs living on the streets. Its goal is that no dog has to go hungry. Its volunteers hand out food and check in on street dogs so they don’t starve.

The organization mainly consists of animal lovers who volunteer to help dogs in addition to doing their regular jobs. One of them is a bus driver.

Met a dog along the way

Two years ago, she noticed something while she was out driving her bus. She saw a dog rummaging through a trash can for food. The bus driver didn’t have the chance to help him then, but she remembered where he was and brought him food the next time she passed by.

The dog was shy and didn’t dare approach the bus at first. But when the bus driver threw a bag of food to him, he started warming up to her.

And that’s how their tradition began.

Every day, Monday to Friday, they meet in the same place. The dog waits by the road with a wagging tail and the bus driver throws him a bag of food.

Here’s a video of one of their meetings:

Nobody knows where the dog comes from, but he’s probably homeless. Perhaps, this is the only food he gets.

Of course, it would be best if someone could rescue him and give him a home. But considering how many street dogs there are in the area where he lives, it’s impossible to help them all. This dog, at least, has food and doesn’t have to go hungry.

My heart sinks when I think of all the homeless dogs in the world. I’d like to thank this bus driver for taking the time to help this dog every day.
