When you welcome a dog into your life, you accept responsibility for another soul. You agree to nurture and care for that new family member until the end.
Through thick and thin – barring extreme circumstances unforeseen – that’s just how it is. Which is what makes it so desperately difficult to comprehend how some dog owners can hurt, mistreat or abandon their charges.
According to a January Facebook post by McIntosh Animal Services (MCAS) in Darien, Georgia, one mama dog had to be rescued after being found abandoned at the road side. She was discovered pulling a crate containing her puppies.
The shocking find was made by a man and his son who happened to be driving down a dirt road.
MCAS’s post read: “We know there is evil in this world and this just further proves that! This poor mama dog watched as someone put her four young puppies into a wire crate and then tied a blue belt around her collar and then tied the belt to this crate and left them down a dirt road!!!”
The passersby knew these dogs needed help and so immediately took them to MCAS, where they were fed, watered, vaccinated and given the necessary treatments to restore them to good health.
As per reports, the mama and her pups were scheduled to be sent to Fancy Cat and Dog Rescue in Virginia, where their rehabilitation will continue. Hopefully, down the line, they’ll be ready to be adopted into their forever homes.
MCAS also offered up a reward worth $1325 for information that leads to the arrest of the villain responsible.
Thank God these pups and their mama were rescued before the situation worsened further. To think that someone could knowingly abandon them at the side of a road is enough to make my blood boil.
