Taylor Swift’s cat Olivia Benson claims spot as world’s third richest cat, reportedly worth $97 million

For those, like myself, who are completely unaware, pets can have a net worth. And it turns out a handful are worth more money than most will ever see in our lifetime.

Taylor Swift’s beloved cat, Olivia Benson, ranks third among the world’s wealthiest pets. Just how much is the Scottish Fold reportedly worth?

An estimated $97 million.

A recent report released by All About Cats calculated pets’ net worth using Instagram analytics to estimate “how much each of these pets could make per Instagram.”

In the case of the 33-year-old pop star’s cat they also accounted for any deals outside of social media.

“The Scottish Fold earned her fortune starring alongside her owner in several music videos, has crafted her own merchandise line, and has had cameos in many big-budget ads, including for the likes of Diet Coke and Ned Sneakers,” the website explained.

Pretty impressive resume for a cat.

Swift adopted Olivia, named after Mariska Hargitay‘s Law and Order: SVU character, in 2014. Since then she’s added another, making her an official cat lady, according to her friends.

“[I talked with] friends about it and before I got the second cat,” she said in a 2014 interview. “I was really kinda canvassing everyone I knew, going, ‘Is cats … cat lady? Or, you know, two cats is cats and there’s more than one?’ And they’re like, ‘No, three cats is a cat lady. Two cats is a party.'”

Gunther VI, a German Shepherd, claimed the top spot with an estimated net worth of $500 million, and Instagram-famous Nala the cat took second place. It’s estimated Nala is worth $100 million.

While Olivia Benson made the top three, unfortunately Swift’s other two cats didn’t make the list.

Hey, there’s always next year!

Personally I think it’s a bit crazy that pets can be worth so much money, but if they did the work whose to say they didn’t earn it!
