This paralyzed dog celebrated her 13th birthday — heartwarming surprise left her overjoyed

Not everyone celebrates their dog’s birthday, but they really should: dogs don’t live as long as humans do, so each birthday is more special.

When one paralyzed dog celebrated her 13th birthday recently, her owner arranged a very special surprise that left the dog overjoyed 🥹❤️

Scooty was hit by a car when she was a puppy, resulting in a spinal cord injury that left her hind legs permanently paralyzed. But despite that, she doesn’t let anything hold her down.

Her TikTok refers to her as the “happiest dog in the world,” and videos show her many adventures. Sometimes she uses a wheelchair to get around, other times she just scoots using her front paws.

When Scooty’s 13th birthday was approaching, her owner knew she had to do something extra special for this extra special dog.

And she knew exactly how Scooty would want to celebrate: with lots and lots of balloons!

Two years ago, for Scooty’s 11th birthday, the owner surprised her with 30 balloons. It was a hit: Scooty was thrilled and bounced around the room chasing and popping the balloons.

But she wanted to go even bigger for Scooty’s 13th birthday, so she called on fans and followers to send Scooty a balloon.

People came through in a big way, sending balloons as well as warm birthday wishes. “People donated balloons from all over the world and I hand-wrote all their messages to Scooty,” the owner told Storyful.
