Stallion runs back into California fires to save its child in incredible new footage

Animals, like humans, are capable of incredible feats when the going gets tough. Those doubting that need only look so far as the California wildfires to see the fact perfectly exampled.

Stunning footage has emerged showing the moment a stallion runs back into the flames to save its family, including a young, helpless foal.

The video in question shows the horse running directly into danger to guide the other horses to safety in Simi Valley near Los Angeles.

The fire began early on Wednesday morning last week, burning more than 1,300 acres in just a few hours and causing mayhem amongst the wildlife in the area.

CBS Los Angeles reports that dozens of strangers banded together in an attempt to help the horses and other animals affected by the blaze. It was during this operation that the stallion in the video performed his heroic deed.

According to the Ventura County Fire Department, the Easy Fire had burned across 1,723 acres by Thursday evening, October 31. Firefighters continue to tackle the blaze.
