Rescued pit bull is named ‘Cinnamon’ because of her unique curled ears

All dogs are beautiful in their own way, but some really stand out from the pack. Whether it’s a puppy with a mustache or a dog two different colored eyes, some dogs just have a remarkably unique look.

That was the case for one pit bull puppy, whose distinct ear shape helped her stand out and earned her a perfect nickname.

In January, a litter of ten five-week-old pit bull puppies were found on their own. They were likely abandoned by a neglectful owner as they were found in poor health, dirty and underweight.

Luckily, they were picked up by a rescue group called Pit Sisters, and received some overdue love and care.

Returning to full health, the puppies were all adorable, but most of them looked like your average pit bull, with long pointed ears.

All except one:

Yes, one of the puppies had curled ears that were said to resemble cinnamon rolls… earning the pup her name, Cinnamon. (Others say she resembles a lady with hair curlers in, but that’s not as nice a name.)

Cinnamon was unlike anything the rescuers had seen before.

“I’ve never seen a dog with ears like hers,” Jen Deane, president of Pit Sisters, told The Dodo. “Everyone can’t believe how adorable she is … and she’s even cuter in person!”

She also stands out from the litter for her personality, too. The rescuers say she’s the spunkiest of the pups: “Cinnamon is very feisty, in a good way,” Jen said. “She’s really sweet and gets along well with other dogs. Her ears just match her personality — quirky and really fun.”

Cinnamon became a star online for her signature look after the rescue posted about her on social media.

It didn’t take long for the pup to find a good home. She was adopted by a woman named Laurie Locashio McGovern and her family, who brought her to a happy new home once she was old and well enough.

But it turns out, Cinnamon is already outgrowing her iconic look: Laurie posted on Facebook that the puppy’s curls were “uncurling” as she grew, and that she was now called Kira.

But Cinnamon/Kira is still beautiful, and its great to see her get a second chance with a great new home after all she’s been through, thanks to some kindhearted rescuers.

“We did not expect Cinnamon to get so much attention but we sure are glad that she did,” Pit Sisters told Bored Panda. “Our mission is to educate, advocate and rescue dogs with no voices.”
