Owner of blind and deaf dog shows how he wakes her up and it’s melting hearts all over

The people who take in animals with disabilities deserve all the praise, I can’t imagine the struggles they face on a daily basis.

Aiden Michael Mann is the proud owner of a beautiful Australian shepherd dog called Plum who is blind and deaf.

Aiden, from Tennessee, told BoredPanda he got Plum when she was 6 months old.

“My coworkers work with a lot of rescues and were fostering her and her brother, and I was trying to find homes for them. When she brought Plum to work, I immediately loved her and wanted her.

“She was just a happy pup and I knew Lola (my other dog) and I would make a great home for her. It wasn’t really a hard decision to make, she deserved a loving home and a happy life,” he added.

Unless you have a dog with similar disabilities it’s impossible to imagine the challenges they and their owners face every day; even the simple task of waking your dog up is difficult.

Aiden said he tried so many different methods but they all resulted in one very scared pooch who, on the slightest touch, would jump.

He finally found the most effective way to cause the least distress to Plum – by blowing on her nose.

Aiden lies down on the floor and gently blows on her nose. Plum still seems startled but searches for her owner and is reassured with plenty of love and snuggles.

He posted a video of himself gently waking up his dog and it melted the hearts of millions and received almost 54 million views on TikTok.

“I had no idea it would get this many views. I was blown away when I went back and checked TikTok and saw her video going viral,” he added

The video also had almost 13 million likes and this sweet pooch seems to have quite the following.

It’s possibly the most adorable thing I’ve ever seen. See for yourself in the clip below.

I’m so glad these two found each other, they make such a good team.

Don’t forget to share this lovable hound with your friends and family and help lift their spirits today.
