Dog found covered in burns and dying, 1 year later he is reunited with the vet who saved his life

Firefighter Marcos Orozca rushed to free the small brown and white dog and took the injured hound to Peggy Adams Animal Rescue.

“The little dog was severely burned,” Gregg Gordon told The Palm Beach Post .

He added that when the 2-year-old dog was found he was distressed, and they didn’t know if he was going to make it.

The dog, name Smokey, had to be transferred to Jupiter Pet Emergency & Specialty Center where veterinarian Dr. Latimer treated him.

He needed, “multiple blood transfusions, medicated baths, bandage changes, and around a dozen treatments in a hyperbaric chamber,” according to Animal Channel.

Thankfully he survived his ordeal.

Firefighter Gregg Gordon visited Smokey as often as he could during his recovery and even decided to foster him until a new home could be found.

After a few weeks of treatment Smokey gained confidence surrounded by people who cared for him and loved him.

When it was time to leave the animal hospital, Gregg took Smokey home and introduced him to his other two dogs. At last he had two new friends to play with!

Just over a week after Gregg had brought Smokey home, it was time to return to Jupiter Pet Emergency & Specialty Center for a routine check.

Smokey was reunited with the medical man who treated him.

Look at the wonderful meeting in the clip below.

Today, Smokey has been adopted by a forever family and has made an impressive recovery considering how injured he was.

But he’ll never forget those who saved his life.

One year after Smokey left the animal hospital, he was taking part in a charity event when he spotted veterinarian Dr. Latimer.

See Smokey’s reaction in the clip below. This is pure love (fast forward to 6:10 to see)

A dog NEVER forgets those who treat him or her with kindness. This is exactly why they are called man’s best friend!

If you loved seeing Smokey’s pure joy then don’t forget to share it with your friends.
