A man brought a llama to his sister’s wedding — viral pic shows the bride was not amused

It can be stressful trying to find a date for a wedding… but on his sister’s big day, one man knew exactly who he wanted to bring.

Many families have inside jokes that last for years and take on a life of their own, and some sibling joking spiraled into a hilarious wedding moment.

It all started five years ago, when Mendl Weinstock heard his sister Riva doing some fantasy wedding planning and couldn’t help but tease her.

“My sister was talking about her wedding as if it were tomorrow when she wasn’t even dating anyone at the time,” he told Insider.

“Just to make her mad and get a reaction, I told her if she makes me come to the wedding, I am bringing a llama with me.”

Mendl was just coming up with the first thing that came to mind… but when his sister joked back that the llama was invited, he was determined to make her keep her word.

This continued for years, as Mendl constantly teased his sister about his plans to bring a llama… even when she actually did get engaged in October.

“Literally, I called him to tell him I was engaged, and his response was, ‘Great, I’m calling the llama farm now,'” Riva said. “Probably not even an hour later, I got a text that said his llama rental was confirmed.”

Little did she know, her brother wasn’t joking!

On her wedding day, Mendl actually showed up with a rented llama:

Mendl spent over $400 on the llama rental, not counting the cost of that custom-made llama tuxedo (it’s still a wedding, after all, you gotta go with your formal wear.)

But clearly, it was all worth it to pull off the ultimate wedding day surprise. The bride’s face says it all:

The pic quickly became a viral sensation. It got a ton of attention after Mendl posted the story on Reddit.

People found it hilarious—Riva’s barely-contained seething rage and Wendl’s clear delight at trolling her. And, of course, the llama.

Riva was in fact tipped off that a real llama would be in attendance, but that doesn’t mean her reaction was any less genuine.

“I promised him that I would take one picture,” Riva told Insider. “I said, ‘I will not stand next to the llama, I will not touch the llama, but I will take one picture.'”

She added: “That’s pretty much my face constantly when I look at my brother.”

Wendl may have won this round, but this sister’s got some payback planned.

“He better sleep with one eye open, because I will definitely be exacting some revenge,” Riva said.

That is definitely one wedding photo for the album! Share this funny story!
