A seal pup was found trapped between rocks

Seal rescue caught on camera: marine rescuers in New Hampshire saved a gray seal pup that got stuck between rocks during extreme high tides. This incredible wildlife rescue unfolded after the Seacoast Science Center Marine Mammal Rescue team responded to reports of a female gray seal pup trapped in a crevice on the jetty at Frost Point, Odiorne Point State Park in Rye, New Hampshire. The young gray seal pup became wedged in the boulder gaps after powerful high tides. Footage shows the rescue team searching the rocks before carefully reaching the exhausted, dehydrated seal. SSC Marine Mammal Conservation director Ashley Stokes said the team was relieved the stuck seal was spotted and reported in time. Despite the seal's aggressive behavior and the tight crevice, this New Hampshire seal rescue was completed in about 30 minutes. The gray seal pup was taken to the Seacoast Science Center for evaluation and treated with fluids, electrolytes, and glucose. In good overall health, she was later released back into the wild.
